Laura Kelly, MA, MS, CNS, LDN
As an experienced Licensed Dietitian Nutritionist and Certified Nutrition Specialist, I'm passionate about helping individuals achieve optimal health through proper nutrition, supplementation, and lifestyle choices. With years of education and practical experience in the field, I've developed a deep understanding of the profound impact that food and nutrients can have on our overall well-being.
I received my Baccalaureate of Science degree in Biology and Environmental Science from George Washington University in Washington D.C. and then went on to earn a Master of Arts in Psychology from Naropa University in Boulder, Colorado and a Master of Science in Applied Clinical Nutrition from Northeast College of Health Sciences in Seneca Falls, New York.
My approach to health is highly personalized and evidence-based with a focus on identifying the underlying causes of disease through an advanced understanding of biochemical nuances and a thorough investigation of clinical presentation, medical history, laboratory assessment, and functional testing.
My journey into the realm of nutrition began with a genuine curiosity about the human body and a desire to explore the intricate relationship between food and health. I pursued a rigorous academic path, earning two Master’s degrees, one in Psychology and the other in Applied Clinical Nutrition. This unique education has equipped me with a solid foundation in human anatomy, physiology, and biochemistry as well as human behavior and mental health.
My primary goal is to empower individuals to make informed decisions about their dietary choices and develop personalized strategies to meet their unique health goals. I firmly believe in the power of food as medicine and the potential it holds to prevent and even reverse chronic diseases. Whether it's weight management, sports nutrition, digestive health, or disease-specific dietary plans, I work closely with my clients to create practical and sustainable nutrition plans that fit their lifestyle and preferences.
One of my core principles is the promotion of a balanced approach to nutrition. I emphasize the importance of incorporating whole, unprocessed foods into our diets while also recognizing the need for flexibility and enjoyment in eating.
I understand that nutrition is not one-size-fits-all and that each person has different needs and challenges.
Therefore, I strive to provide personalized guidance and support tailored to the unique circumstances of each client. More than anything, I love translating complex scientific concepts into practical, actionable advice, to inspire and empower clients to take control of their health and feel their best.
I am thrilled to be a part of your wellness journey and look forward to working with you to unlock the potential of nutrition for a healthier, happier you. Together, we can make positive and lasting changes that will transform your relationship with food and pave the way for lifelong wellness!
